About Me

I believe that every funeral ceremony should be unique and reflect the uniqueness of the person who has died. I decided to become an Independent Funeral Celebrant as a result of attending several funerals which didn’t do this.  I wanted to help people to create a truly personalised funeral ceremony for their loved one.

I have had a varied career and I realised that I had the skills to provide a service for people at a very difficult time in their life. My previous work included working for an advocacy charity supporting vulnerable people in Leeds; working for the NHS at a GP surgery in North Yorkshire; further education teaching in Cheshire and Yorkshire; teaching English as a foreign language and as a police officer in Merseyside.

I will help you to create a personalised ceremony based on your beliefs and values. A ceremony celebrating the life of the person who has died and acknowledging the grief of their family and friends.  It will be an opportunity to share your personal memories and to say goodbye in your own way.

I am a member of the Association of Independent Celebrants
